AVP, Human Resources Operations
This position reports to the VP of Human Resources and will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of the employee strategy for the Cayman and Bahamas business. This role will guide the Senior Compensation and Benefits Specialist and manage the daily HR operations and related projects. Through partnership and collaboration with the business, the AVP, Operations will recommend and implement solutions, programmes and policies for the HR systems, HR analytics and drive operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- participating in organisational strategic planning and providing input for policy development and or enhancements
- oversight of the administration of general procedures in support of HR policies and practices ensuring all policies are reviewed and updated as required. This will include the accurate and timely provision and ongoing maintenance of contractual employment and benefits entitlements for all employees in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas
- management and assessment of the benefit offering and overseeing the administration of insured and other optional benefits to meet Butterfield’s obligations to employee and departmental service standards
- management and oversight of the Payroll provision for Cayman Islands and Bahamas employees
- collaborating with the AVP, People & Culture to execute the HR strategy and create an operational roadmap, streamline processes and remove roadblocks to manage key employee projects
- working with the group HRIS team for systems implementations across all employee spaces, and project manage implementations and integrations as required
- providing strategic market inputs through research and act as a consultant to the Business regarding policies and procedures
- developing strong professional relations across all levels of the business and managing key internal and external stakeholder and vendor relationships
- working closely with the Senior Compensation and Benefits Specialist, and Finance to ensure data integrity by way of driving best practices through systems/tools, processes, auditing and internal tracking
Your qualifications and skills include:
- 7-10 years of broad professional HR experience in all aspects of human resource management
- senior human resources certification (SPHR or equivalent) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
- previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports
- ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people
- current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources
- proficiency in business and human resources related computer applications, which will include talent management systems, time, and attendance systems, etc.
- superior verbal and written communication skills
- proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- strong presentation skills
- excellent leadership skills
