Do you have a bachelor’s degree or practical work experience?
Our programme is designed to empower bright, ambitious, and talented people from diverse backgrounds with the skills, training, and experience needed to pursue a career in financial services.
From day one, our 16-month rotational programme will see you working closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative and inclusive environment as a valued team member in one of our core banking jurisdictions: Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, or the Channel Islands.
What we offer:
During the structured programme, you will gain first-hand practical experience, build technical knowledge, and gain a deeper understanding of key business areas through placements in banking, investment, trust, compliance, and risk management.
With the support of an assigned mentor and a personal development plan, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, engage with clients, attend industry conferences, and begin an industry-accredited qualification.
What we are looking for:
- Bright, ambitious and talented individuals with an interest in financial services and a desire to learn
- University graduates and strong candidates with work experience.
- Effective communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- At the time of application, you must have the right to work in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands or the Channel Islands as appropriate.
We recruit based on your leadership potential, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and alignment with our core values—approachable, collaborative, impactful, and empowered.

My overall experience in the program was both challenging and rewarding. Some of the highlights included my time spent with the Corporate Banking team, where I joined client meetings and was able to gain an understanding of the book of business and the services offered, our visit to the banking team in the Cayman Islands and the opportunity to mentor our summer interns. I thank the whole team for the opportunity, and particularly my mentor Jody Feldman whose wisdom and guidance has been hugely beneficial to my professional development, and I look forward to continuing my journey with Butterfield.
