We are hiring for a role to monitor Butterfield Bank (Jersey) Limited's compliance with legislation in Jersey, relating to money laundering and financing of terrorism.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring (and enhancing, where appropriate) a second line of defence Anti-Financial Crime control framework is in place, including relevant policies, procedures, systems and controls
- Monitoring compliance with, and testing the effectiveness of systems and controls in place to prevent and detect money laundering and financing of terrorism
- Ensuring accurate information on internal and external reporting is available for local risk and Board reporting, as well as at Group level .
- Reporting periodically to the Board on compliance with the relevant person's systems and controls and issues that need to be brought to its attention
- Addressing findings arising from Compliance Investigations, Monitoring & Surveillance and Financial Crime Validation Testing
- Work with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer to arrange with AML/CFT Sanctions and other relevant training to raise awareness of employees
- Responding promptly to requests for information made by the Commission
- Provision of anti financial crime and sanctions advice to the business
- Maintaining awareness of the obligations under legislation and regulation, tracking changes and advising the business on the impact of any changes
Your qualifications and skills include:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services
- Have an applicable ICA Diploma or equivalent
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to work as part of a team, both within Jersey and cross-jurisdictionally
- Knowledge of the Financial Crime environment and emerging trends
- Proven management skills at a senior level
- Ability to teach, mentor, delegate and develop teams and individuals
- High ethical standards with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with absolute discretion
