Lending Specialist
Work in a growing organisation with the strategic objective of expanding its Lending proposition in the Channel Islands.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a front office lending specialist for Butterfield Bank.
- Acting as both an internal and external credit advisor.
- Reviewing mortgage applications, suggesting changes, debating structural situations and solutions in the professional credit approval process.
- Assisting all Lending Offers in the approvals and conclusion of the facilities they underwrite.
- Underwriting more complex credit facilities, including Lombard lending and FX facilities (working closely with Head of Lending) and carrying out annual reviews, as necessary, of credit facilities and supporting security.
- Working with Credit Risk & Ops to ensure credit facilities are within our defined risk strategy and ensuring that risk culture is built into all new product design, case submission and portfolio review.
- Making recommendations for continuous improvement to the process.
- Respond to external enquiries within agreed SLAs (either via email or telephone) and delivering exceptional client service.
- Contributing and presenting into CI & UK Credit Committee.
- Assist in the marketing of CI mortgages, both externally and internally, where applicable.
- Contributing to CI lending targets.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- An in-depth knowledge of the Credit Risk appraisal and structuring techniques in both onshore and offshore environments, together with interpretation of company, trust, fund etc. financial statements and cash flow analysis techniques
- Good Credit Skills
