Lender, Consumer Credit
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Consumer Credit, the Lender is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of loans and mortgage clients, as well as meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interviewing clients and potential clients for personal loans and mortgages; resolving client queries and/or concerns.
- Analysing client profitability.
- Presenting loan applications and completing supporting documentation for approval.
- Working with legal counsel/attorneys.
- Cross-selling the Bank’s products and services by referring clients to other departments.
- Recovering delinquent accounts as directed by the Vice President.
- Assisting in the development of business and profit plans.
- Assisting with other duties as and when requested by management, including covering for team members in their absence.

The team offers a variety of products from chequing and saving accounts, to mortgages and personal loans, along with foreign exchange, personal insurance and more. At Butterfield it is our team’s professional approach and core values that allow us to deliver our distinct service to our customers.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related discipline with at least five years’ related experience.
- Experience with use of PC software – Word, Filemaker Pro, and Excel.
- Highly effective interviewing skills and techniques, with proven ability to build and secure client relationships and new business.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with working comfortably in a team environment that may be subject to time restraints.
- Familiarity with a wide range of banking products.
