Credit Operations Officer
The successful candidate will report to the Credit Operations Head. The role could be based in Jersey, London or Guernsey. The core responsibilities are good knowledge of Butterfield credit products, facility agreements and general overall credit competency and to assist in ensuring that all credit procedures and administration are carried out in accordance with Group policies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up the Client and all credit facility types in T24.
- Production of Facility Letters for approved facilities, in accordance with the approval terms.
- Instruct / liaise with Panel Law Firm.
- Instruct / liaise with the Panel Valuers. Review valuations and complete valuer checklist (to be countersigned by CRM).
- Review all documentation and ensure the terms and conditions have all been met.Arrange and receive confirmation of perfected security.
- Compare details in the Approval to the loan agreement. Such as name of client, amount of loan, interest amount, securities to be held, guarantee amounts, term length.
- Good understanding of credit differentials/legal requirements between Guernsey & Jersey
- Check the BRR assessment form to ensure that BRR is assessed properly and input into the system correctly.
- Arrange for all drawdowns and completion of drawdown checklists. This must include all dual authority requirements and SOX controls are managed in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Full understanding on Lombard facility requirements, making sure LTV’s are input, monitored and managed correctly.
- Arrange sub-participations of credit facilities to/from all other Butterfield entities.
- Manage the application process and service delivery of our 3rd party credit cards.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- Experiencing in working to processes will be key to this role.
- Experience of issuance of credit facilities and/or general credit competency.
- Drive and determination to work in a fast-paced business unit with clear weekly/monthly targets.
- Capable of delivering an exceptional client service.
- Ensuring compliance with procedures and risk management frameworks.
- Diligent and high level of attention to detail even when working under pressure.
- Capable of identifying underwriting red flags and anomalies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-starter and team player.
- Strong IT skills.
