AVP Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking
The AVP, Relationship Manager will be pivotal in managing and developing a portfolio of wide ranging Corporate client relationships, whilst also supporting the wider business development and client servicing strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- sourcing, managing and developing a portfolio of valued corporate client relationships, focusing on borrowing as well as non-borrowing customers, and negotiating and documenting sometimes complex proposals
- developing, reviewing and critiquing complex proposals and facilities prior to submission to the Bank’s Credit / Reputational Risk or other Committees, ensuring that high-quality business proposals are presented and are in line with Butterfield’s Policies and Standards
- analysing investment portfolios and mutual funds from a credit risk perspective, and maintaining awareness of services and requirements from within the fund industry
- develop new markets for corporate banking products, acting as a technical resource
- maximise the profitability of each Bank client relationship by cross-selling, analysing accounts in detail and identifying service opportunities
- managing, mentoring and developing junior team members within the Corporate Banking department, setting performance and development goals to ensure that the departments strategic objectives are able to be met

We provide tailored and financial services and advice to help our clients thrive and grow. As a global team, we are able to provide direct access to a range of corporate financial services, such as accounts, investments and corporate financing.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- bachelor’s degree and a further professional qualification (ACIB Chartered Institute of Bankers, MBA) and 10 years relevant experience or equivalent
- detailed understanding of the business and product requirements of the Global insurance and financial service industries coupled with a sound working knowledge of the related Global accounting and regulatory environments
- superior analytical and risk management skills including financial analysis and credit structuring
- ability to structure complex credit facilities, including syndications, trade finance, documentary and standby letters of credit (UCP500 and ISP98) regulations, fund lending and treasury services
- demonstrates proven presentation, teamwork, leadership, negotiation and communication skills
- demonstrate ability to pay close attention to detail, work independently and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
