National Heroes Day Banking Hours

Butterfield will be closed on Monday, 13 November, for the Remembrance Day public holiday. Our Banking Centres will reopen on Tuesday, 14 November, at 9 a.m. To access your accounts, please use Butterfield Online and our ATM network.

Old Sterling Banknotes – removed from circulation on 1 October 2022.

Please be advised that as of Saturday, 1 October 2022, Butterfield will not accept old paper sterling notes for banking deposits or transactions as they will no longer be legal tender. The official last day of use is Friday, 30 September 2022.

Butterfield clients are encouraged to deposit old notes or swap them out for the new polymer ones at any Butterfield Banking Centre before Saturday, 1 October 2022. From this date, only polymer sterling banknotes will be accepted.

We will be closed on Monday, 23 January 2023 for National Heroes Day. Our Midtown Plaza Banking Centre will be this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and otherwise all Banking Centres will reopen on Tuesday, 24 January 2023, with normal operating hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. You can continue to access your accounts during the public holiday by using our Butterfield Online, ATM and mobile banking devices.

Holiday Banking Hours:

Butterfield will be closed from 2 p.m. on Friday 23 December and will reopen 9 a.m. Wednesday 28 December, 2022.

We will close again from 4 p.m. on Friday 30 December, 2022 and will reopen 9 a.m. Tuesday 3 January, 2023.

Update on Saturday Banking: Saturday Banking will be temporarily suspended as we allow time for annual training and infrastructure investment initiatives. To access your accounts, please use our Butterfield Online, ATM and mobile banking services. Saturday Banking hours will resume as normal on March 4th.

Hurricane Lee Advisory: Please be advised that our offices and Banking Centres in Bermuda will be open for business from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. today.

The ATMs at Collector’s Hill, Modern Mart, Somerset MarketPlace and Somerset Banking Centre are back in service and Saturday banking will be available tomorrow at Front Street from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

We are pleased to report the issue with debit card settlements has been fixed for the vast majority of accounts impacted, and we are working to correct the few outstanding. If you still see an issue with your account and you require access to blocked funds immediately, please contact the call centre.

Please be advised that our Banking Centres will be closing at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, 6 October. Butterfield Online will also be unavailable this weekend from 4:00 p.m. on Friday, 6 October until Monday, 9 October at 9:00 a.m. as part of a scheduled systems update.

Applications Analyst – Banking Products

We are seeking an experienced Applications Analyst to support with the delivery and execution of a suite of Oracle Banking Applications, such as SWIFT, ACTIMIZE. Reporting to the VP, Group Applications and working closely with the broader Group Information Technology team, this role will provide a variety of support services, including application change, configurations, integration to the Oracle Banking Applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • partnering with leadership and stakeholders to define business requirements, analyse data structure and workflow and evaluate and propose application solutions
  • actively participating on project teams responsible for system hardware and application software implementation and upgrades, collaborating to determine project scope and staff resources required to complete projects
  • working closely with and providing updates to business stakeholders and SME’s, technology colleagues, consultants and vendors to ensure timely and efficient completion of project deliverables
  • performing both functional and technical applications testing, along with regression testing with detailed evidence and analysis to ensure all the system/applications changes are validated before deployment to production
  • performing system administration activities, including coordinating and managing the installation and configuration of software and related application software upgrades while ensuring technical issues are effectively identified and resolved
  • implementing system changes and administering access to systems and information utilising approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines
  • reviewing new and existing processes and procedures along with system requirements ensuring technology processes and procedures are well documented and implemented in accordance with the principles of professional practices and standards and that effective systems are in place for audit and control
  • ensuring timely and effective resolution of service management incidents, and proactive identification of potential issues are appropriately addressed and escalated, as required
  • setting up, reviewing and reporting the entire applications incidents, service requests, problem records and SLA metrics from all the service providers and reporting to VP, Applications
  • supporting the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of applications and ensuring that systems are in a usable state, meeting performance targets and available at all required times
  • coordinating internal and external suppliers to ensure the successful quality delivery of products and services within agreed performance/SLA limits

About the team

Information Technology (IT) covers a wide range of responsibilities at Butterfield including oversight of the Bank’s entire technology infrastructure, software development and maintenance to facilitate online product development and efficiencies as well as management of the website and intranet platforms. IT also plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank’s systems are kept safe and secure from cyber criminals.

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • post-secondary education coupled with a minimum of six years’ experience in applications implementation, testing and support with at least two years’ experience working in the banking industry
  • understanding and knowledge of retail banking including CASA, loans, deposits, payment solutions and associated applications will be an asset
  • previous experience selecting, configuring and installing third party vendor tools that are compatible in a multi-cloud environment, including effective design and management of detailed testing plans• knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and experience working with Configuration Management Database (CMBD), System Outage Analysis (SOA), Component Failure Impact Analysis (CFIA) and statistical analysis and trending tools
  • effective time management and organisation skills with the ability to multi-task in a busy timeline driven environment
  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners providing ongoing communication and progress updates
